Astral Projection Exercise

There are four main types of exercises you can use when trying to induce an obe.   They are:

Relaxation
Energy Balancing
Mind Control
Focus

In addition to these you can also use prayer at the beginning of the practice.   Below is described a typical practice session.

Begin by laying down on your bed with the door closed, a pillow under your knees and a comforter over you.  Most authorities on astral travel recommend that you find a place where you will be undisturbed. Take a few moments to ground yourself *in* your body, to relax into yourelf at the moment at this particular place and time. Then you can say a prayer that goes something like this:

"Dear God/dess, Creator, Angels and Guides from the Light:
I pray that I may leave my body in order to ......................
Please help me and protect me in this endeavor!"

Then visualize yourself surrounded with white light, and as you focus in on this light you become absorbed in the beauty of this energy and often have some wondrous visions and feelings of peace.

Relaxation

Then begin to focus on your feet, and in a typical relaxation exercise, move through my body from toe to head stretching, clenching and then relaxing each body part.  Visualize energy swirling through each part of your body releasing tension.

Energy Balancing

Then cleanse, balance and charge your chakras.

Mind Control

Then you can use a technique adapted by the author years ago from the Silva Mind Control teachings to put  your body to sleep.  In your mind say: "I'm going to count down from 3 to 1, visualizing each number on a white orb suspended in the air above my head, and when I reach the third and final "1" my body will be asleep and I will have no awareness of physical sensations. I will not perceive any physical discomfort, and my consciousness will be focused on my astral body."

Then visualize a white orb suspended in the air above your head.  When you will be mentally well-focused on the orb,  visualize a number "3" on the face of the orb.  The numbers can be any color you  choose.   The important thing is to create a pattern, for training your brain to react the way you desire whenever you perform this sequence.  This is the heart of the power of ritual!

Visualize the 3 three times:  three number "3's" on the orb.  "My body is completely relaxed, becoming numb.  I am losing awareness of physical sensation."

Then repeat the visualization with three number "2's."  "My body is asleep now.  I feel no sensations,  no discomfort.  I will now visualize the "1's."  When I am finished, I will have no awareness of physical sensations.  My consciousness will be in my astral body."

Then visualize the "1's" three times.  "My body is now completely asleep.  I have no awareness of physcial sensations.  My consciousness is in my astral body."

The benefit of training your mind this way is that you can greatly accelerate the process of transferring your awareness away from the physical body.  Each time you  practice this, the programming becomes a little bit stronger, after some time you will visualize the numbers and have your body asleep in two or three minutes.

Focus

Once you are in this state try to clear your mind by focusing on your breath, or the tip of your tongue, or any one thing. The key is to remain conscious while your body is asleep.  Naturally, all sorts of thoughts pull you from the focus, but you can return as soon as you notice you've strayed to your concentration on one thing.  Your obe's can often occur after a period of focus when your mind has drifted and has been on the verge of sleep.  This is when you  have awakened to find yourself either out of the body or when the "surges" have come on.  You will often doze off when beginning practice, but take it up again when you are awake by focusing your attention and trying to remain conscious while your body sleeps.

Excerpt From The Celtic Connection

The Gazing Technique
By Leia
There is only one technique that works for me. Maybe it can work for you too.

This is to be done when going to bed. You need something to focus on; if it is in view the moon, the stars, a crystal, a favorite doll will work well... Use whatever you like.

Just not a Candle or anything that burns!

This method involves the body falling asleep, and you should never leave anything that burns unattended. I usually use my crystal ball for this.

Place the object within your view and lie down in your bed. Just stare at the object as you doze off. The first few times may be frustrating. You may just fall asleep and that's it. But after a few tries, this worked for me.

Keep staring at the object. As your eyelids become heavy, keep staring. Eventually your eyes will close, but you will still be able to see the object. You will still be staring at the object. Sit up or stand up, and don't be surprised to see your physical body sleeping peacefully in your bed!

This works fairly well for me. When you are out of your body, do whatever you wish. I am still getting used to the out of body feeling (I achieved my first one only a month ago ), so I have not travelled any farther than the roof of our apartment building yet.

This time is yours. Just tell people that you are attempting this and don't wish to be disturbed.

Happy travelling!

The benefits of out-of-body exploration extend far beyond the limits of our physical senses and our intellect. After an out-of-body experience, many people report an inner awakening of their spiritual identity, a transformation of their self-concept. They see themselves as more than matter - more aware and alive.

They express a profound inner wisdom based on personal spiritual experience. Many report being connected to something greater than them selves, connected to the very source of life itself. They report a powerful feeling of breaking through a dense barrier of ignorance, fear, and limitation. During my workshops, I often hear reports of an increase in personal knowledge and an inner connection to spirit. Many report a dramatic expansion of their perception capabilities extending far beyond their physical limits - an overwhelming sense of knowing based on direct personal experience.

Perhaps the most important benefit received from out-of-body experiences is the recognition of our personal ability to discover the answers for ourselves.

When I am asked, "Why out-of-body exploration?" my response is simple. I need to know the answers for myself. I find little comfort in beliefs, especially since they are the most abundant commodities available today. Every society, every culture is overflowing with their version of the truth - a manmade collection of unconfirmed convictions. These beliefs change with time, evolving and decaying, while the truth of our existence remains the same, hidden under the ever-growing mountain of doctrines, dogmas, assumptions, and conclusions.

I believe that the purpose of life is experience. We must experience and explore for ourselves. We must discover and know, or be a slave to other people's opinions. As the twenty-first century approaches, the time has come for us to recognize our true potential and to explore beyond the prevailing beliefs and convictions. The time has come for us to discover the truth for ourselves.

We have this opportunity today. Controlled out-of-body experiences open the door to an incredible new frontier of human potential and discovery. It allows us to explore beyond the narrow limits of our physical senses and discover the answers to the oldest mysteries of our existence.

According to research and studies conducted by many highly respected physicians; Dr. Raymond Moody, Dr. Melvin Morse, Dr. Ken Ring, Dr. Bruce Greyson and Dr. Stewart Twemlow, the transformative qualities of out-of-body experiences are limitless. Each year new studies point to additional psychological and physical benefits derived from out-of-body experiences. As I research this topic, I realized that the number of reported benefits are absolutely staggering.

As the number of reported out-of-body experiences continues to increase, the evidence is overwhelming that life-changing benefits are regularly obtained during out-of-body adventures.

The following is presented as an overview of the many benefits reported worldwide in the last three decades.

Reported Benefits

1. Developed a greater awareness of reality - According to an in-depth survey conducted by Stuart Twemlow, M.D., Glen Cabbard, M.D., and Fowler Jones, Ed.D., eighty-six percent of their three hundred thirty-nine out-of-body participants reported a greater awareness of reality. In the same survey, seventy-eight percent believed they received a lasting benefit.

2. Personal verification of our immortality - A powerful, life-changing event experienced by millions every year. Without a doubt, out-of-body experiences provide firsthand, verifiable evidence of our ability to exist independent of our physical body.

3. Accelerated personal development - The recognition and experience that we are more than physical beings opens entire new levels of personal development. I strongly believe that self-initiated and controlled out-of-body experiences are the cutting edge of accelerated personal development. Once we consciously access and control our nonphysical self, we can unlock the unlimited knowledge of our subconscious mind and harness our ability to explore the universe. The entire subject of human potential is dramatically expanded beyond all current concepts and comprehension.

4. A decreased fear of death - When we experience ourselves consciously separated and independent of our physical body, our fear of death is noticeably reduced. Fear of death is fear of the unknown. Once you separate from your body, you absolutely know that you continue. I have found that the more out-of-body experiences we have, the less fear and anxiety of death is present.

5. Increased psychic abilities - Precognition, telepathy, premonitions, prophecy, the ability to see auras and many other psychic abilities are often reported to be enhanced by out-of-body experiences. The reason for this is currently unknown but many believe it's simply a natural result of us becoming more in tune with our internal energy systems.

6. An increased desire for answers - Once we recognize that answers are available; many people begin a personal spiritual quest to solve the mysteries they have held since childhood.

7. Realizations concerning death - Out-of-body experiences provide evidence that the process of dying may not be a painful or scary experience but rather a wondrous, spiritual adventure.

8. Accelerated human evolution - True evolution of our species is not the biological change around us but the evolution of consciousness. As our world becomes progressively more complex, there is an inner need to discover the unseen reason behind the rapid physical changes we perceive around us. This need to know the answers to the many mysteries that surround us will take our species into the next level of human evolution. When we look back at human evolution, we see a noticeable transition from physical labor-based societies agricultural) to increasingly intellectual-based (technology) societies. Eventually our species will be ready for the next major step of evolution - the recognition and experience of our spiritual self and the exploration of the nonphysical dimensions.

9. Spontaneous healing - There are numerous reports of individuals healing themselves and others when out-of-body. Often this healing is initiated by a focused thought directed to a specific area of the body.

10. More expansive self-concept - Instead of viewing ourselves as a physical being possessing a soul, many recognize themselves as soul (consciousness) temporarily possessing a biological body.

11. Increased spirituality - Many report profound insights into their spiritual nature with a stronger connection to their spiritual essence. According to the phenomenology study conducted by Dr. Stuart Twemlow, fifty-five percent of the participants referred to their out-of-body experience as a spiritual experience. In addition, many report a deeper connection to their essence and profound insights into their spiritual nature. A definite sense of being connected to something far greater than themselves. Whether we call it spirit or the universal mind of God, there are consistent reports of a powerful inner connection.

12. Recognizing and experiencing past-life influences - The remarkable work of Dr. Weiss and other respected physicians and hypnotherapist have provided convincing evidence that past-life influences are an important element of our current psychological makeup. These subconscious memories can be effectively accessed and explored through personal out-of-body experiences.

13. Accelerated psychological change - Out-of-body experiences help us to break free from old mental ruts and habits. On many occasions, individuals have told me that the shock of experiencing themselves independent of their physical body has given them a more enlightened perspective of their current existence. This expansive vision of themselves has been instrumental in awakening new levels of personal growth and understanding.

14. Obtaining personal answers - Each of us has questions relating to our existence - What are we? What is our purpose? Do we continue? What is the earning of life? These questions and many more can only be answered through personal experience. Out-of-body exploration provides a powerful method for all of us to obtain the answers we seek. Why settle for beliefs when the answers are available?

15. Encountering a being of light, an angel, or nonphysical resident of some kind - Many people report face-to-face meetings with some form of nonphysical inhabitant. Dr. Stuart Twemlow reports that thirty-seven percent of his study groups were aware of the presence of a nonphysical being while thirty percent reported the presence of guides or helpers.

16. An increased respect for life - A pronounced aversion to violence and killing seems to appear. For example, the idea of hunting and killing an animal becomes repugnant. I believe this is due to the personal knowledge obtained concerning our spiritual interconnectiveness.

17. Increased self-respect, self-responsibility and inner dependence - Many recognize, often for the first time, that they are the creative center of their physical existence. They often experience the vast potential and power of their inner, nonphysical self and tap into their creative essence. Many people have told me that they realize more than ever that they are completely responsible for all their actions, both thoughts and deeds.

18. A reduction in hostility, violence and crime - Those that experience themselves as more than just their bodies often realize the self-destructiveness of stealing or harming another person. This is due to their personal recognition that they truly do continue independent of the physical body. Since they now absolutely know they continue after death, they now realize and comprehend that their personal responsibility also continues.

19. Increased knowledge and wisdom - Only experience creates wisdom and out-of-body experiences have the unique ability to provide knowledge and wisdom far beyond the limits of our physical perceptions.

20. A profound sense of knowing instead of believing - Personal knowledge is powerful and life-changing especially when compared to beliefs. Out-of-body experiences provide firsthand, verifiable knowledge of our immortality and our spiritual identity. This knowledge cannot be adequately explained - it must be experienced.

21. An inner calmness - A feeling of peace that comes from knowing instead of hoping that we truly are immortal.

22. An increased zest for living - There is a certain excitement inherent in out-of-body exploration that is difficult to describe - an exhilaration that reaches deep into the very core of our being. The realization that we are much greater than our current physical personality or ego. When we separate from our physical body and actively explore our surroundings, we know deep down that we have become the ultimate explorers. Life itself becomes an adventure, an exciting journey of discovery. The inner excitement we feel is unmistakable, the inner knowing that we are blazing a path far ahead of our time.

23. Increased intelligence, memory recall and enhanced imagination - Many people report that their out-of-body experiences have somehow enhanced their awareness and intelligence. Some believe that out-of-body experiences may stimulate areas of the brain previously untapped during normal physical life. From a biological point of view, this could be due to a stimulus of the right temporal lobe or the pineal gland. The medical reason for this is unknown but according to extensive research conducted by Dr. Penfield, a Canadian neurosurgeon, when the right temporal lobe is stimulated by a mild electrical charge, patients consistently reported out-of-body experiences. In addition, there is substantial evidence that the right temporal lobe is mysteriously activated during death and near-death experiences. There is research that supports the existence of a connection between the biological brain and our nonphysical energy system. If this is so, then maybe there are interactions both electrical and chemical that we are still unaware of. This entire subject requires additional research.

24. A sense of adventure - Every day and night is an opportunity to experience a new adventure. The author, Tom Robbins, may have said it best "Our great human adventure is the evolution of consciousness. We are in this life to enlarge the soul and light up the brain."

The benefits of out-of-body experiences are a reality that each of us can experience. All we need is an open mind and the proper guidance to access our unlimited personal potential. The ability to explore unseen areas of the universe is now available, but it is up to us to take the step from being a curious observer to being an active explorer. I believe this step is an important turning point in our life and our personal evolution. The decision to explore beyond the limits of our physical body can provide an effective method to obtain the answers and insights so many of us seek.

This journey of consciousness from the physical to the spiritual is a reality we cannot escape - our only real decision is when we are going to begin.

Recognition and Response to the Vibrational State

Internal vibrations and sounds are often the early indications of an approaching out-of-body experience. I refer to the inner sounds and vibrations as the vibrational state. These vibrations are commonly reported to begin at the head, neck and stomach area and spread throughout the entire body. They are often accompanied by numbness, paralysis and noises such as a buzzing, humming or roaring sound.

According to an extensive national out-of-body survey conducted by Dr. Steward Twemlow in 1979, fifty-five percent of the three hundred and thirty-nine participants reported "a sense of energy" during their out-of-body experience. In addition, fifty percent stated they felt the vibrations in their body and thirty-eight percent heard noises in the early stages of their experience. According to the survey, the most commonly reported noises were buzzing (29%), roaring (19%) and music or singing (16%).

In the beginning it's helpful to notice any internal inner signals you may experience during sleep, dreams, and as you are waking. Pay close attention to any unusual vibratory feelings or sounds even if they are subtle. Many people routinely experience vibration sensations and sounds, but disregard them as dream-related or as unexplained physical phenomena.

Your recognition and response to these sensations and sounds will, many times, determine how successful your separation process becomes. Some people are so startled by the sensations and sounds they think of their physical body - this causes an instant return to the physical.

Your positive reaction to your personal vibrational signals will assist you to take advantage of every opportunity to separate from your physical body and experience the ultimate adventure. The more knowledgeable and prepared you are about the initial sensations and sounds associated with out-of-body exploration, the more success you are likely to achieve. Recognition and response to the Vibrational State is an important step in preparation. The following is presented to help you recognize the internal sensations and sounds associated with the initial phases of an out-of-body experience.

Common Vibrational Signals

• Buzzing, humming or roaring sounds

• Unusual tingling or energy sensations

• Voices, laughter, or your name being called out

• Heaviness or sinking

• Numbness or paralysis in any part of your body

• Weightlessness or spreading lightness

• Any internal vibrations out of norm

• Electrical-like sense of energy

• Footsteps or other sounds of a person's presence

• Internal rocking, spinning, or movement of any kind

• Arms or legs lifting while asleep

• Surge of energy flowing through your body

• Any noise out of the norm, wind

The Chakra System
Sound Frequency Techniques

The use of sound to induce altered states of consciousness and out-of-body experiences is an ancient practice dating back thousands of years. The Tibetan monks are famous for their use of chants, chimes and bells to enhance their meditative states. In the last two decades the benefits of chanting and mantras have become a well-established part of meditation classes. The repetition of certain sounds is widely known and accepted as an effective method to enhance and improve an individual's focus of attention.
Even though sound frequency techniques are still relatively new, I'm certain that with continuing research and development, this revolutionary form of out-of-body induction will become commonplace in the near future. In order to introduce you to sound frequency techniques I have enclosed an ancient technique used for centuries by Tibetan monks. This is one of the oldest recorded out-of-body techniques, dating back a thousand years before the birth of Christ.

"Mystic Bowls" Sacred Sounds

The word Chakra means, "wheel" in Sanskrit. In the body, chakras are the energy centers through which life energies flow. In all healings one must balance the chakra system in order to heal the patient.

Ancient Hindus formulated that there were seven of these energy wheels, each a different color and spinning in a clockwise direction. The location of chakras actually match major nerve or endocrine centers in the body. There are also minor chakras in various parts of the body including the hands and feet.

Chakras correlate with color frequencies, the musical scale and stones.

ACTIVATING YOUR CHAKRAS

The use of quartz crystal bowls can activate and help to align your chakras. "Mystic Bowls" Sacred Sounds is sacred healing music incorporating seven crystal singing bowls, each bowl resonating to one of the seven chakras, or energy centers in the body. "Mystic Bowls" Sacred Sounds is a blend of 4-D technology and ancient healing tones to guide you into an altered state of consciousness which can make it easier to induce out of body experiences. It is also an excellent tool for spiritual healing sessions, energy work, meditation and massage. The vibration of the bowls acts to balance the chakras, remove energy blocks and assist in healing

CHAKRAS AND CRYSTAL HEALING

Stone Chakra Therapy:

Lie down and place a healing stone from the chart that correlates with the area of the body or chakra the that needs to be healed, cleared or activated and aligned. Leave in position for 3-5 minutes. Clear quartz crystal, may be substituted for any stone. You will experience the sensation of healing during this time. You can leave the crystal on for a few minutes longer, or substitute another stone, follow your intuition. Placing a stone on all 7 chakras at the same time for 25-30 minutes, can expedite healing. Try different combinations. This is an excellent healing method to work with a partner, placing stones and moving them from chakra to chakra as you are drawn to do so. One person receives the healing as the other places stones. After both have received the healing you may wish to discuss and record your experience..

RELATIONSHIPS ~ KARMIC TIES
YOUR CONNECTED TO YOUR SPIRIT GUIDES THROUGH YOUR CHAKRAS

Each of your chakras can connect with a guide or guides. Also a guide can link to more than one chakra. Relationships, not just with your guides but also with your friends and family, connect to the chakras as well. When you are in a relationship with someone you are also connected through your chakras. They can also connect with one or more chakras i.e. heart, root, solar plexus, etc.

Here is an example of how negative energy ties can be caused and removed. Problems in a relationship or ending one can cause energy blocks within the chakras. Finding and removing these blocks is not hard to do.

Lets practice finding the connections we have with our higher self.

First lets practice finding the connections we have with our higher self.

See yourself as a figure of energy.

You are facing your energy figure.

Now watch as lines of energy connect between you and your energy figure begin to manifest.

You may see connections to all chakras between you and your energy figure.

You may see just the heart: romance.

You may just the solar plexus: as in working relationships, friendships, etc.

You may see a white light appear between you and your energy figure connecting the higher chakras.

Look at the color of the connection, is it thick or thin, is it straight or twisted. The impressions you receive about the connection you have with your energy figure or higher self are indications of the energy blocks you may have within your chakras. Use the Stone Chakra Therapy method to remove the blocks and reactivate your chakras. After a brief time you will be able to master this skill.

Now lets find a connections you may have with someone you know.

You can also do this with anyone you know, people other then yourself or even someone who has passed over. The impressions you receive about the connection you have with this other person living or on the other side can indicate karma between you and that person.

See this person as a figure of energy.

You are facing this person's energy figure.

Now watch as lines of energy connect between you and this person's energy figure begin to manifest.

You may see connections to all chakras between you and this person's energy figure.

You may see just the heart: romance.

You may just the solar plexus: as in working relationships, friendships, etc.

You may see a white light appear between you and this person's energy figure connecting the higher chakras.

Remember not all connections are negative, so look for blocks and unhealthy ties. We are all connected on many levels, we need to keep these connections healthy, flowing and energetic.

Healing and removing the energetic ties that no longer serve the higher self of the people involved.

Check to see if all of the chakras are disconnected. There are several ways to disconnect from any unwanted relationship at this level. First try to physically inform the person you are disconnecting from that you are about to cut ties on all levels "Now and Forever". They may think that you are crazy and not understand why you are telling them this, but informing the person on the physical level is all it may take to remove the blocks and restore healthy energy flow.

If you cannot reach them in person or by phone etc., then verbally call out to them and tell them: you are about to cut ties on all levels "Now and Forever". On some level of awareness they will be aware of you intentions.

Now in your mind, remove the energetic ties that no longer serve you.

You must be prepared to end all energetic ties that no longer serve you in a healthy manner. You are severing parallel experiences so take time and meditate and prepare yourself psychically, mentally and spiritually before you do this. Your intention must be clear.

Now remove the energetic ties. Visualize the energetic ties between you and that person dissolving and inner energy flowing. Depending on the depth of the karma between you and that person the energetic ties may take much effort to remove. The energetic ties may symbolize many past life issues; therefore you may have to remove energetic ties to more than one chakra with that person. Once you have removed these the energetic ties you should feel relief and no remorse. Your attachment with this soul no longer exists.

You may need to do this with more then one person. Some people have a lot of karma to clear in this lifetime. This is a good way to release karma from this and past lives. Remember remove these energetic ties in your own time and space.

I would suggest you do this with one person at a time and no more than one per day.

Let the people you have removed energetic ties with release and move on. Be sure to send them love and light as you are creating balance. Wish them a speedy journey as they like you and I have much to do on the road to spiritual enlightenment.

The Target Technique

For many, the key to out-of-body exploration is to focus and maintain your complete attention away from your physical body as you drift to sleep. One of the easiest ways to accomplish this is to focus your attention upon a person, place, or object located some distance from you. This can be a loved one from which you are separated, your favorite vacation spot, or a gift that holds some special meaning for you. Whatever you select should be an actual physical object you know, not an imaginary place or person. Select the object or place that is easiest to visualize and holds the most interest for you.

Visualizing a loved one that you are separated from can be effective. Just picture the person that you wish to be with as vividly as possible. It helps to be emotionally involved, so select a person you would love to be with. Choose someone you know, not a fantasy relationship. Become completely absorbed in their presence and actually feel yourself with this person. If you like, role-play some kind of interaction to keep you involved.

Continue your visualization of this person for as long as possible as you allow your physical body to completely relax and fall to sleep. It's important to maintain a detailed picture of this person and your interaction as you go to sleep. As you doze off, attempt to boost your emotional and visual connection with this person as much as possible.

This method is excellent bedtime visualization. Keep in mind, the more emotionally involved you are, the more effective this technique is. Have fun with it and let your imagination go wild.

The Target Technique

Your ability to focus and maintain your awareness away from your physical body is enhanced if you direct your full attention upon a specific object or place. The target technique is an excellent exercise to help you develop this ability. Select three targets in your home. All three targets should be physical items that you can visualize with relative ease. Your targets should be in a different area of your home than the room you normally use for your out-of-body techniques. For example, you could select your favorite chair for your first target. For your second, select a gift or artwork that holds some special meaning to you. Third, select the most visually stimulating object available, such as your favorite painting, sculpture, or crystal. All three targets should be in the same room. After selecting your targets, physically walk to each one and examine every detail. Study each object from different perspectives; notice any imperfections or irregularities. Take your time with each object, memorizing the sights and feelings associated with every target area. Become aware of all of your senses during your walk, especially your sense of sight and touch. Repeat your walk several times until you can easily recall the smallest details of each target area. Pay close attention to everything, including colors, textures, densities, reflections of light, coolness, and heat. Also feel and memorize the sensations associated with your walk from one target to another. In other words, Get Into It! Enjoy all the sensory input that you receive.

The key to this technique is to focus and maintain your attention away from your physical body as you drift off to sleep. If you are persistent, the results will be dramatic. To enhance this exercise, take your time and repeat your physical and visual walk-through daily for thirty days. Get interested and involved in each target. This technique is a great way to increase your concentration and visualization skill and it only takes about twenty minutes to perform.

Select targets that are easy to visualize for yourself. Many people select personal items that possess a sentimental attraction. Once you make a selection stay with it, the repetition of your visualization dramatically increases its effectiveness. This technique is my personal favorite, over twenty-five years ago I stumbled upon it when I began to visualize objects in my mother's home. I strongly believe that this technique can work for anyone who is willing to invest the time and effort. The key is to select target objects that are easy to visualize but interesting enough to hold your attention. Items that you have made such as a painting, a sculpture, a silk flower arrangement, or even a set of curtains can be extremely effective targets. As you progress with this technique you can increase the number and variety of the targets you select. After you become comfortable, you can expand your visualization to include an entire room. This technique is extremely effective, but it is up to you to take the steps. The time you invest will be richly rewarded.

Examples of Targets

1. Sense of sight

A favorite chair

Sofa or any item of furniture

Any object that you can visualize well

A gift or personal item that holds a special meaning

Any object or artwork that you have created yourself

A special picture, painting or portrait

2. Sense of touch

Textured fabric or cloth of any kind

An item of furniture a door, carpet, light switch, sculpture or a wooden banister

Jewelry, ashtray, candle or any object that has a unique or distinctive shape or texture

OM Technique

1.Take several deep breaths and completely relax. Become comfortable in your designated out-of-body area. Close your eyes and begin to focus your attention just above the crown of your head. Concentrate all of your awareness above your head until the sensations of your body begin to disappear.
2. As your physical sensations begin to fade, softly intone the sound OM seven times. Let the sound resonate through the top of your head.
3. Repeat the OM sound in your mind seven times. Be completely aware of the sound resonating in your mind. Let the sound rise through the top of your head.
4. Focus all of your attention on the very core of the resonance and allow the sound to slowly ascend toward the ceiling. Feel your awareness merging with the sound. As much as possible, surrender and become one with the rising sound as your body becomes increasingly relaxed.
5. Feel your awareness rising with the sound. Become one with the OM resonance. Enjoy the sound and flow with it. Feel yourself become lighter and lighter as you float with the sound. Allow your physical body to rest and sleep as you focus all of your attention on the rising sound. Maintain all of your attention on the rising sound as your body falls to sleep. As you begin to fall asleep concentrate all of your awareness on the rising sound.

This technique is designed to be used with the "OM" CD. When using any external sound system, remember to focus upon your internal sounds. The external OM sound is designed to be a reinforcement and enhancement of your own inner voice. The key is to become one with the sound.
